San Marcos City Council Candidates for District 3 VIDEO Interviews

The North County Daily Star interviewed the two City Council Candidates for District 3. Both candidates were asked the same questions and the two videos contained in this article reflected their answers about the City of San Marcos. The Videos have not been edited.

Danielle LeBlang
Danielle is a mom, a licensed attorney, a volunteer in our community, and a small business investor. She graduated magna cum laude from Illinois State University in 2001 before receiving a Juris Doctor in 2005 from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. She worked as a defense litigation attorney in Chicago and New York City.

Danielle and her husband Terry moved to San Marcos in 2016 to be closer to family. For the past few years, she has focused on raising her two young children and taking an active role in her community through volunteer efforts and investing in the local business community. Danielle currently serves as the co-chair of the PTO at her children’s school, ensuring she has an active voice in the education of her kids and every student. She also serves on the Annual Auction Committee for the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos, and she teaches dance to developmentally disabled children at the TERI Campus of Life schools.

Danielle believes in a safer San Marcos for every family in our community. She is committed to supporting local law enforcement and ensuring they have the proper training and resources to serve our city. As a busy mom, she understands the city’s traffic problems. She will improve our local roads and infrastructure in order to mitigate traffic concerns. Danielle also believes that a healthy economy creates a healthy community. She will improve our local economy by supporting economic and small business growth.

Alan Geraci
Alan Geraci is a respected attorney, father, youth sports coach, and community leader. He and his wife Karen live in San Marcos and have a blended family of six children and two grandchildren.

Alan attended the State University of New York at Albany receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, the first in his family to graduate from college. After graduating, Alan moved to California to attend law school in San Diego where he earned his law degree from California Western School of Law.

Alan Geraci served as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Diego where he headed the Trial and Appellate Division, supervising 35 lawyers. Alan led the effort to create the first-ever Domestic Violence Unit in the City Attorney’s office. He also fought to preserve open space in East San Diego which led to the 5,800 acre Mission Trails Regional Park.

For 36 years, Alan has practiced law emphasizing civil litigation, foreclosure, real estate, trusts, wills and bankruptcy. Since 2008, he stood up to big banks to protect the homes of 300 families from foreclosure.

Alan has spent his entire career fighting powerful special interests on behalf of everyday citizens and winning to ensure we get a fair deal!
