San Marcos city facilities including City Hall, Parks and Recreation, and Public Works will close for the holidays beginning Tuesday, December 25 and will remain closed through Tuesday, Jan. 1.
City services, such police and fire, will remain in place through the holidays and emergencies should be reported to 9-1-1
Staff will also be standing by to address non-emergency related issues like street light outages, debris in roadways and other non-emergent fire and public safety concerns. To report concerns, visit www.san-marcos.net/reportaconcern.
The closure is estimated to save nearly $200,000 in labor and energy costs. Employees will receive their normal holiday leave and will be required to take three vacation days during the break, which will also reduce banked vacation time.
When contacting the City during the holiday closure, the public will be directed to the appropriate dispatch or messaging system.
