San Marcos resident, Pastry Chef Christophe Rull, has been shaping the pastry world with his artesian chocolate works and now his craft is headed for a new Netflix show. Bake Squad premiers August 11, 2021 hosted by Christina Tosi. If you’ve had Milk Bar sweet treats, you know that Christina sets her sights high with her Milk Bar bakery shops full of scrumptious cakes and cookies. As the host of this new reality TV show, she’ll oversee the outrageous creations which will be front and center in hopes of winning the unusual contest.
It’s not surprising to have Chef Rull part of the competition because he is no stranger to culinary competition shows. He was part of a team which won Food Network’s Halloween Wars Season 7 and Holiday Wars 2018. I first met chef when he pulled out all the stops and created holiday chocolate masterpieces for the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, Ca. Nothing short of spirited amazement, his creations reflected his dedication to detailed sugary and chocolate designs and were highly anticipated each year.
Add all this together and Bake Squad promises to entertain and showcase very imaginative masterpieces. In a different twist for a reality show, four talented bakers (including Chef Rull) were chosen by Christina to compete against each other in eight episodes, and here is where the twist comes in, selected people who need an over-the-top dessert will have the task of deciding which of the four bakers will prepare that dessert. Those receiving the magnificent dessert could be someone in a health situation, having a wedding or hosting a birthday party. Definitely stirring up an emotional and lasting impression.
Check your Netflix schedule for Bake Squad starting August 11 and cheer on local Pastry Chef Rull. You just might want to have snacks ready while watching the delicious creations being made.
