At the Dec. 10 City Council meeting, the City of San Marcos swore in newly elected Councilmember Danielle LeBlang to serve District 3 for a four-year term. Councilmember LeBlang will join Mayor Jones, Councilmember Nuñez, Councilmember Sannella and reelected Councilmember Musgrove. The City also thanked Deputy Mayor Sharon Jenkins for her service as she concluded her term on the City Council.

Since moving to San Marcos in 2016, Councilmember LeBlang has been heavily involved in the community. She currently serves on the Annual Auction Committee for the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos and is a member of the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce. Councilmember LeBlang is also heavily involved in San Marcos education as co-chair of the PTO at her children’s school and teaches dance to developmentally disabled children at the TERI Campus of Life schools.

“It is a privilege to be elected as a new City Councilmember in service of the San Marcos community,” shared Councilmember Danielle LeBlang. “I am deeply committed to collaborating with my fellow councilmembers, residents and businesses to cultivate a thriving City for years to come. Together, we will drive meaningful impacts for the entire San Marcos community that will bolster relationship building, safety and vibrancy.”

Alongside Councilmember LeBlang, Councilmember Ed Musgrove has been reelected for a second term from 2024 to 2028. Councilmember Musgrove volunteered four years on the San Marcos Traffic Commission and the past three years as a city planning commissioner. He also volunteers with several civic organizations and non-profit groups including the Lions club, Rotary and the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos.

In addition to welcoming new and reelected councilmembers, the City also thanked Deputy Mayor Jenkins for her service as she concluded her term on the San Marcos City Council. Deputy Mayor Jenkins served on the San Marcos City Council since 2012 and leaves a lasting impact on the community through her more than 30 years of volunteer service.

“It’s a bittersweet moment for the City as we welcome our new Councilmember LeBlang and reelected Councilmember Musgrove and bid farewell to Deputy Mayor Jenkins,” shared Mayor Rebecca Jones. “We are grateful to everyone who has and continues to devote themselves in service to our great City.”
