On Jan 27 2020 at about 7:18 am, Traffic Deputies from the San Marcos Station Traffic Division responded to a radio call of a vehicle versus pedestrian on W. Borden Road near the intersection of Via Barquero, in the City of San Marcos. Upon arrival, it was discovered that 43-year-old Pimienta Rodriguez Celso, had been unloading some landscaping equipment from a trailer in the #2 eastbound lane on W. Borden Road, just east of Via Barquero. As Celso unloaded the landscaping equipment, a vehicle driven by 16-year-old female driver struck the trailer Celso was standing next to.
Celso suffered a broken neck, broken rib, scalp laceration along with a contusion to his right-side hip, as a result of the collision. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the collision. The San Marcos Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
