Five new murals designed by local high school students will be unveiled at Washington Park on October 30 at 10 a.m. The art will be installed on the Washington Park Pool Building and is part of a pilot program between the Escondido High School District, the City, and the Public Art Commission. The art will be up temporarily (6 months to a year) and then will be replaced with additional student murals.
The art will be printed on a conformable wall mural film that is applied with heat and will come down later without damaging the wall. You can see how it is applied here. Our hope is that this program will continue to enhance Escondido’s vibrant public art scene and promote and foster our youth artists.
