Summer Camps Going Strong
Looking for a way for your child to get exercise, make new friends, learn a new skill or just have fun? Sign them up for summer camp. This year’s lineup includes sports, art, aquatics, specialty and science camps and other programs for kids 3 to 16. Summer camps run through Aug. 24.
Camp Themes
Camp themes include art, aquatics, science and exploration, sports and fitness, or traditional day camps that run all summer long. A sample of some of the camps offered in July and August include:
Sports Camps will build foundations, improve technique and develop new skills in soccer, golf, baseball, gymnastics, tennis, basketball, dodgeball or flag football
Science Camps encourages children to build, engineer, experiment and explore. Kids will tap into their imaginations and learn about science, nature and real-world concepts with hands-on fun, in a safe environment.
Film Making is where future moguls learn how to create a storyboard, write a screenplay and produce a film.
Junior Zoo Keeper allows future animal stewards to learn about all types of mammals, reptiles, birds and bugs; build habitats, prepare diets and meet live animal friends.
Mysteries of Magic is where budding magicians learn new tricks that will amaze family and friends.
Art Camps will let your child express themselves and explore drawing, painting, sculpting, collaging, stamping and celebrating their creativity.
Top Chef Desserts is where novice chefs will learn how to make several delicious and fun dishes. This camp features delectable competitions with plenty of challenges.
Sewing Camp teaches budding designers how to sew, finish and iron seams, attach closures, cut patterns and make simple garments.
American Girl is where campers can learn to make doll jewelry and accessories, make treats to enjoy at tea parties and pajama parties, and learn about their doll’s heritage.
