Surreal and Striking 60-ft. Mural to be Unveiled March 20th

Boosting Vista Vibrant Arts and Culture District

Discover the newest addition to Vista’s flourishing arts community as Found Lofts premiers a 60-foot mural in Vista’s bourgeoning Arts and Culture District on Sunday, March 20th at 516 S. Santa Fe Avenue, Vista, CA. Painted by Joram Roukes, an internationally acclaimed artist from the Netherlands, the mural’s official unveiling will be celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. followed by a community Open House and meet-and-greet with the artist. Vista Mayor Judy Ritter, members of Vista’s City Council, and Mel Vernon, Captain of the San Luis Rey Band of Mission Indians will join Roukes and Lev Gresham, founding partner of Tideline Partners who developed the property, at the event.

Inspired by the rich storytelling of the San Luis Rey Band of Mission Indians, Roukes is creating an iconic mural that exhibits signature elements especially meaningful to the tribe’s members and surrounding region. Viewers will marvel at the mural’s colossal scale and vibrant colors meant to evoke a spirit of discovery from within. Roukes is celebrated around the globe for his large-scale oil paintings with collage-like features and reflections on daily life and contemporary culture in western society. His artwork has shown in galleries across the globe, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, London, Paris and more.

Found Lofts is a new 42-unit loft-style living complex that aims to inspire community and creativity with its signature artist-in-residence program. Roukes is the first resident to live on site, but surely not the last. Found Lofts hopes this artist-in-residence program will attract more local and national artists to the region to engage with the local Vista arts community and share their work.
