Throwback Thursday – Grape Day Festival Did you know that Grape Day Park is named after the Grape Day Festival, which started in 1908? After taking a few years off due to the pandemic, the Grape Day Festival returned this September. At its peak, thousands came to celebrate Escondido’s sweet grapes and citrus. Festival attendees would stomp grapes then as they do now at the annual event. Today, Grape Day Park is home to the Escondido History Center, the keeper of Escondido’s local history.
