The City Traffic Engineers were proposing to replace the existing all-way stop control at the intersection of Shadowridge Drive & Live Oak Road with a roundabout. The presentation for the City was given by Traffic Engineer Husam Hasenin. The Commission then asked for public input. There were 15 speakers. The first speaker was Vista Councilperson John Franklin, who shared the remarks that Vista residents overwhelmingly disapproved of the installation of a roundabout and asked the Commission to reject the Traffic Engineers proposal.
The other residents echoed the same views. The Commissioners discussed the proposal and it was voted on, not to recommend the staff proposal. Many ideas were suggested to face the real problem, which is drivers exceeding the posted speed limit. So for now there will be no roundabout in Shadowridge.
