You may be aware of the recent assaults at the Oceanside Harbor. The first incident occurred on Saturday, August 17, 2024, when multiple victims were injured in a baseball bat attack. The second incident occurred on September 14, 2024, when two individuals were assaulted and injured at the Harbor Beach Campground.
We realize these incidents are disturbing and can prevent people from wanting to visit our beautiful Oceanside Harbor and Beach communities. We want to emphasize that public safety is the Police Department’s top priority. As a result of the recent incidents, there will be an increased police presence in the harbor and surrounding areas.
Our investigation reveals the most recent incident is not related to the previous assault. OPD is committed to providing the highest level of public safety to the community, and we realize this area of the city has seen an increased amount of criminal activity.
