Sergio’s Fine Art Gallery is getting quite close to their one year anniversary and what a year it’s been!
We are approaching the one year anniversary of the gallery opening. SAVE THE DATE FEBRUARY 23 2020. Sergio Gutierrez is a San Diego local musician and acrylic artist who has been performing and honing his crowd gathering skills since the age of fifteen. His story to success landed him in San Diego’s north county in 2010 and currently paints in his studio on the grounds of Forgotten Barrel Winery located in Escondido, CA. “The studio and winery are just a fantastic location for a creator,” says the 32 year old painter and musician as we sit within the one hundred year (plus) old barn he uses for his painting. “The journey to California, the people I have met and the lessons I’ve learned along the way and the true appreciation I have for all of them are hard to put in to words.”

Sergio’s impact and activities have heated up outside of the gallery this past year as well. From expanding his sales and recognition into the commercial real estate relm, to giving back to people in need. The artist has worked diligently to share his paintings and art in new and exiting communities. “I was humbled at the beginning of the year to be part of a creative commercial office project Owned and Operated by Harsch Investment Property near the airport in Carlsbad. They purchased and permanently displaying nine of my full size canvases in an amazing office environment where companies are doing business every day!” he says with a gratifying smile. “I feel a real sense of accomplishment to be included in a project like that,” he added.
While selling his art is a big part of what he likes to do, giving back is always on his mind. 2019 brought opportunities to donate both his time and art to assist in philanthropic endeavors raising over $38,000 for the medical care of a local San Diego child and a chance to replace some stolen art on the walls at the Town Hall Public House in Vista.
“We heard through social media that a vintage poster of Lucille Ball was lifted from the restaurant wall and I felt like we wanted to help make that right,” he stated. “It was a lot of fun to just show up and say to the owner of the restaurant, Here you go!”
Creating original art, making music and bringing joy and fulfillment to the folks around him are his goals for the coming year. “I feel so fortunate to get to do what I do every day. I just want to share this with people.”
Sergio has an open invitation to the community to come out and see him and experience the wines at Forgotten Barrel. The facility occupies the former Ferrara Winery site designated a California historic point of interest in the 1970’s and a Historic site by the city of Escondido in 1989. The winery, was established in 1886 as one of San Diego County’s and Southern Califorinas’ first wineries.
