Wildwood Crossing and Vista’s Broadway Theater Team Up for Dinner Theater this Weekend

By TR Robertson
Two popular venues in Downtown Vista are teaming up for a series of monthly Dinner Theater performances, beginning this Friday, March 4th. Wildwood Crossing & Cantina, located at 116 Civic Center Drive, and Vista’s Broadway Theater are joining in partnership with a series of performances from outstanding and talented performers & musicians. Beginning this Friday, March 4th, local musician Daniel Newheiser will present a one-man show called “I’m Old Fashioned”. Daniel is a 33-year-old performer who started writing his own music and performing at a very young age but discovered in college that his true love was for “the standards”, performed by singers like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. For Daniel’s show he takes these standards and creates, for his audience, a new way of hearing them. Vista Broadway Theater co-owner Randall Hickman says, “Daniel was born to play and perform this music. Once you see him on stage you will know exactly why he says, ‘I’m Old Fashioned’”.
The first Dinner Theater shows at Wildwood, featuring Daniel Newheiser, will open March 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, and 13. Dinner begins at 6:00 pm and the show begins at 7:00 pm on Friday and Saturday’s and at 1:00 pm on Sunday’s. Each show will have a new set and a new theme. They will take place in the beautiful, private Wildwood showroom. Chef Wilfrido “Willy” Valentin will offer those in attendance six delectable entrees to choose from: Prime Rib, Braised Short Rib, Grilled Cod over Pesto Risotto, Fish & Chips or Carnitas Plate.
A second Dinner Theater show will open on March 25th followed by a third Dinner Theater show opening on April 8th. A variety of performers will be on stage and possibly Vista Broadway co-owners Doug and Randall will showcase their talent.
Cost for the Dinner and the show is $50.00, and reservations are encouraged. To make your reservation call 760-758-1513.
Good friends, good food, good music – It’s all good at Wildwood!
