$1.12 million Awarded to City of Vista for New Avenida De Benito Juarez Park

SACRAMENTO – Senator Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) issued the following statement thanking the California Department of Parks and Recreation for awarding the City of Vista $1.12 million to create the new Avenida De Benito Juarez Park.

“I would like to thank the Department of Parks and Recreation for awarding the City of Vista over $1 million to create the new Avenida De Benito Juarez Park. This grant money will allow city officials to acquire the necessary parcels to begin development.”

“I am confident the residents of Vista will enjoy this new pocket park once the project is completed.”

The grant award is part of the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program (SPP) which provides Proposition 68 (2018 Bond Act) funding to local agencies and non-profit organizations. Eligible projects involve the construction of new parks, or expansion or renovation of existing parks for the health and wellness of Californians.
