United Airlines is coming back to Carlsbad’s McClellan–Palomar Airport (CLD) with twice-daily service to Denver (DEN) and San Francisco (SFO) beginning March 30, 2026. The routes will be operated by United Express on 76-seat Embraer E175S with First, Economy Plus, and Economy cabins. It’s United’s first CLD service since 2015, when it ended flights tied to the retirement of its EMB-120 turboprops.
United’s network chief, Patrick Quayle, teased the move publicly, and industry outlets confirm the plan: two flights each day to both hubs, designed for easy one-stop connections across United’s network. For North County travelers, CLD offers a shorter drive and smaller-airport convenience compared with San Diego International.
United will be the second primary carrier at CLD, following American’s Phoenix service, which launched in 2025, signaling a broader revival of commercial flights at the airport. For locals, the DEN and SFO links restore quick access to a global network without trekking to SAN or LAX.
