Members of the School Board, the Vista City Mayor, Council Member Dan O’Donnell, Linda Latimer, President of the Citizen Bond Oversight Committee, and over twenty five students celebrated the construction progress being made at the Rancho Buena Vista High School Career and Technical Education Complex last Friday, April 7, 2023. This was called a Steel Beam Signing event, where the Superintendent and elected officials met with students and members of the community to recognize the great progress made by signing the last steel beam that will be placed in the roof this week.
This $13.9 million dollar taxpayer funded project brings two new CTE pathways in construction and welding to the school, with room for a possible third pathway in the future. This new facility will offer a huge welding program with more than eight individual welding booths, a large inside design space, and a materials yard. It will also offer an even larger construction room with state of the art tools, materials, fabrication stations, a materials yard, and a covered outdoor fabrication space for larger projects. As this project was designed and started, there has been so much positive interest that the RBV administration has already started both programs early. Both programs are at capacity and are looking forward to moving into the new facility in the fall 2023.
