It is time to sharpen that artistic sword and get the creative juices flowing. The Forrester David Cravens Foundation released its annual 4DC Creative Scholarship to North County student -artists to help support higher education and creative endeavors. The FDC Foundation will award multiple scholarships ranging from $500-$1000 to assist students with college expenses. This year is the first time that the scholarship will be extended to high schools throughout the county including Vista, Rancho Buena Vista, El Camino, and Oceanside. Over the past five years we have worked to build connections in the community and establish our role within it. This is a step we have always been hopeful for and we are excited to open our outreach to include more students eligible for this year’s scholarship. We believe this will bring diversity to the submissions and better represent the creative talent we have here in North County. We can’t wait to see the artistic visions that are submitted this year!

The 4DC Creative Scholarship is open to all forms of creative expression because we know that a person’s passions are just as unique and varied as they are. Possible submissions include: video, photography, writing, painting, drawing, mix-media or any other creative form of expression you choose. The application is open now to all qualified senior students at the above mentioned high schools with the deadline for submissions on May 29, 2020. The winners of the scholarships will be announced in June. For more details and to start your application please visit
our scholarship page. While at the moment, circumstances in our communities are strange and quite different than what we are used to, we are still committed to fulfilling our pledge to North County’s youth through much needed college funding. When most of us are literally stuck inside, it can be a time for reflection and exploration within ourselves. Creative self-expression is a great tool to cope with anxieties and fears in trying times or promote the beauty and goodness that still surrounds us. We encourage you to pick up the pen, brush, camera, or mouse and show us how you express yourself; it might even earn you money for college!

As always thank you to our sponsors, donors, and artists that make all this possible. If you want to volunteer or donate to help our cause please visit our donation page.
