Walking or participating in any exercise that raises your heart rate can boost your energy, strength and mood, while fending off serious health issues like obesity, highblood pressure, poor cholesterol and bone loss. Research has shown that adding more steps to your day could add years to your life – and to the lives of those walking with you. Walking also has the lowest drop-out rate of any exercise.

We are fighting heart diseases and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 5 killers of all Americans, by making the places we live, learn, work, play, pray and heal healthier. We are doing this with an emphasis on improving access to healthy food, blood pressure management, and reducing tobacco’s toll in North County.
