One of the best ways to add sophistication to your work is to create layers of subtle interest to the background of your piece. Mixed media is one way to achieve that. Mixed media includes layers of paint and mark-making using a variety of tools. Monoprinting using Gelli plates is another vehicle to add to the mix. It is fun and fast.
