California is among the top three states, along with New York and Connecticut, with the highest income disparities. While Democrats continue to increase their power in these state legislatures, working families continue to fall through the cracks and struggle to make ends meet. Our state’s prosperity is being squandered by a Sacramento that has turned a deaf ear to the plight of its citizens.
Extreme regulations, exorbitant taxes, deficits and a deteriorating business climate have driven around one and a half million people from the state of California which is outrageous. The California exodus has decreased new business start-ups and contributed to an increase in unemployment, making the Golden State most famous for its high homeless rates and the lowest homeownership rates.
Parents who can afford to do so are yanking their children out of a failing public school system at a record pace and homeschooling them or putting them through private education. Those who cannot afford and are denied a choice to do so are forced to place their children in the care of a curriculum that rewards mediocrity over achievement.
We must cut taxes, regulations, and the cost of doing business in California immediately. And we need to turn our public schools back into an institution of which we can be proud, by supporting the teachers who are trying to educate and improve our students, rather than those bureaucrats who wish to indoctrinate and promote ideology over achievement. Let’s stop giving people a reason to flee California and provide them with a reason to stay.
