[San Diego, CA] – EPIC Entertainment Group, renowned for crafting extraordinary live experiences, has once again brought holiday magic to the iconic Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, California. Returning for the fifth consecutive year, EPIC is inviting guests to step into “A Holiday in Oz,” a whimsical celebration that captures the wonder, color, and imagination of L. Frank Baum’s timeless tale brought to life through thematic décor, innovative design, and EPIC’s signature storytelling magic.
“Designing A Holiday in Oz for a property as iconic as Hotel del Coronado is a creative opportunity we’re incredibly proud of,” said Steve Sheldon, Managing Partner at EPIC Entertainment Group. “Our partnership with The Del continues to grow each year, and we’re thrilled to once again transform the resort with an experience that feels both unexpected and like home.”
The “Yellow Brick Road Tree Trail” has truly raised the bar on immersive holiday decorations with four custom 12-foot character trees designed by EPIC to reimagine Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion through bold colors, intricate textures, and handcrafted details. At the heart of the property stands the breathtaking 22-foot Lobby Tree, themed as “The Road to Oz” and adorned with more than 1,500 hand-placed ornaments, including a radiant spiral of yellow ornaments representing the Yellow Brick Road itself. Additional scene-stealing creations, from the dramatic Wicked Witch of Oz Tree to the shimmering Glinda of Oz Tree, extend the story across the resort. Guests have been eagerly exploring every corner, sharing that each tree feels like stepping into a new chapter of the tale.
The enchantment continues outdoors with EPIC’s signature holiday light spectacular. The century-old Norfolk Island Pines on the Founders Lawn, famous as the world’s first electrically lit outdoor Christmas trees, have become living art once again. This year’s Wonder of Oz Lightshow Spectacular debuts a dazzling new theme, featuring more than 80,000 synchronized lights dancing to an Oz-inspired twist on classic holiday music; the show has become one of the season’s most talked-about moments.
“Storytelling is at the heart of everything we do,” said Charity Hill, co-founder of EPIC Entertainment Group.
“At the Hotel del Coronado, we blend tradition and innovation to create experiences that immerse guests in the magic of the season, ensuring memories that last a lifetime.”
