City of Vista Offers Free Summer Meals for Children

ISTA, CA — The City of Vista will once again participate in the State of California’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) by providing free breakfast and lunch to children ages 1 to 18. Meals will be served at the Jim Porter Recreation Center at 1200 Vale Terrace Drive. The program is offered weekdays from June 8 through August 7, 2026. Breakfast will be served from 9 to 9:30 a.m., and lunch from 12 to 12:45 p.m. There are no income requirements or registration needed to participate. The program ensures that children continue to receive nutritious meals during summer break when school meal programs are unavailable. It is funded through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the California Department of Education.
