NORTH COUNTY — Blistering temperatures and humidity have turned the region into a sauna.

The region’s latest heat wave, though, did not arrive alone. Just before Labor Day weekend, tropical storm Marie pushed north into Southern California, bringing several days of record-breaking heat and unusually high humidity.
