Barrel and Stave Pourhouse to Restore Vista Art Mural

NC Daily Star spoke last week with new Barrel and Stave Pourhouse Owner, Steve Thomas. Steve is having the Historic Vista Mural restored, which is located on the West side of the former Mother Earth building that he recently purchased and is renovating. Steve contacted the original Artist, Clay Parker, who was commissioned by the City of Vista in 2002, to paint the worlds longest mural down the entire side of the building on Hanes Place and also down the alley in the back of the businesses located on Main Street in Historic Downtown Vista. The mural faces Vista Village Drive for all to see as they drive through town.

Several areas of the mural were dry rotted and have stucco damage. This area will be repaired. Clay will repaint and restore the original mural that had deteriorated over time since 2002 back to new condition. Along with the restoration of the outside of the building, Barrel and Stave is also being completely remodeled inside. The restoration is expected to be completed by early 2021.
