On Tuesday Dec. 8, 2020, the Vista City Council unanimously voted and appointed Councilmember Joe Green to serve as Deputy Mayor. The appointment is made annually and the Deputy Mayor assumes mayoral duties when the Mayor is not available. Joe Green was first elected to Vista City Council in 2016 and was re-elected in November 2020.
Councilmember Green was raised in Vista, attended Vista schools, married his wife Jennifer over 20 years ago and has four children. He has served his community in the PTA for 10+ years.
