SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The undefeated Cal State San Marcos men’s basketball team continued its climb up the national rankings on Tuesday as the Cougars clocked in at No. 15 in the NABC Top 25 Coaches Poll while coming in at No. 17 in the D2SIDA Top 25 National Media Poll.
CSUSM moved to 9-0 overall and 5-0 in CCAA play this past weekend with wins in its first two road games of the season at Cal State Monterey Bay (76-68) and San Francisco State (89-55). The Cougars are just one of 10 teams remaining in Division II without a loss and are tied for the third-longest active winning streak.
The Cougars are now just one win shy of matching their best-ever start to a season. In CSUSM’s final year of NAIA play, the Cougars started the 2014-15 season at 10-0.
CSUSM will close out the calendar year by traveling up to Huntington Beach to play NAIA opponent Westcliff on the campus of Golden West College on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
