Grand opening of Margarita Wilkinson’s campaign office in downtown Oceanside

OCEANSIDE, CA–Margarita Wilkinson, a largely self-funded Republican candidate for the 49th Congressional District, officially opened her campaign office with a Super Saturday Campaign Walk on January 20, 2024. Held at 401 N. Coast Highway Unit 108, Oceanside, CA 92054, the office opening marked another milestone in Wilkinson’s bid against incumbent Mike Levin.

The campaign office opening served as an opportunity for supporters to gather vital information about Wilkinson’s candidacy, gain insights into the upcoming 2024 House of Representatives election, acquire complementary campaign signs, and even consider joining her dedicated team.

Margarita Wilkinson, a local media executive and conservative outsider, brings a unique perspective to the political arena. Originally from Mexico, she obtained American citizenship and grew up along the Texas-Mexico border. Wilkinson’s journey includes working her way through college in an entry-level position at Univision, where she achieved the title of becoming the youngest station manager in company history at 32.

With a career spanning three decades, Wilkinson attained the position of Senior Vice President of the San Diego affiliates in 2010. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she actively engaged with the community by serving on the boards of notable organizations such as the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, The Old Globe Theater, the Red Cross, ONE San Diego, and many more. Residing in Del Mar with her husband Philip and four children, Wilkinson underscores her dedication to the values she believes define America’s exceptionalism.

In addressing critical issues facing the nation, Wilkinson expressed her determination to confront challenges directly. Her focus is on the concerning statistics highlighting current problems, including over 7 million illegal border crossings, a 404% increase in border enforcement actions, an 85% surge in gas prices, a 44% rise in inflation, a 39% increase in housing costs, and a 21% uptick in homelessness.

Wilkinson’s campaign focuses on key policy areas to counter these issues and more:

Secure Our Border: Recognizing national security implications, Wilkinson advocates for strengthened border security to curb the free flow of drugs and criminals. She emphasizes the need to address the fentanyl crisis and reform asylum laws.

Crack Down on Crime: With an emphasis on law and order, Wilkinson stands with law enforcement to combat rising crime rates. Her commitment is to empower law enforcement agencies in reclaiming streets from criminals posing threats to families and businesses.

Margarita Wilkinson brings a blend of experience, community engagement, and a steadfast commitment to addressing the critical issues facing the 49th Congressional District and the nation at large. She and her team encourages visits to her new office to find more information and express support—401 N. Coast Highway Unit 108, Oceanside, CA 92054.
