On February 6, the Escondido Police and Fire Communication Center received reports of a person in the flood control channel, between Rose & Midway. Fire units were dispatched and were met by Officers upon arrival. Units were directed to an adult female standing in knee deep water and unable to get out of the channel. Firefighters built a rope retrieval system to lower down a crew member and safely remove the female from the water. According to the victim, no injuries were sustained.
