A reported school threat at a Ramona middle school has turned out to be unfounded.
It happened on Thursday, September 12, just before 9:00 a.m. The Ramona Sheriff’s Substation was made aware of a message about a possible shooting threat at Olive Pierce Middle School, located in the 1500 block of Hanson Lane.
Deputies arrived at the school within minutes of getting notified by the school. For the safety of students and staff, school administrators made the decision to place the school on a limited lockdown while deputies investigated the incident.
After a thorough search of the entire campus, deputies did not find anything suspicious at Olive Pierce Middle School. No one was hurt.
Out of an abundance of caution, deputies conducted security sweeps at Ramona High School and Ramona Community Montessori School. Deputies also provided extra patrols at all three campuses until the end of the school day.
At this time, there does not appear to be any threat to the Ramona community. While similar school threats have recently been reported at other schools across San Diego County, it is not known if the Ramona incident is related.
Detectives from the Ramona Sheriff’s Substation are handling the follow-up investigation.

Amenaza Escolar – Ramona
Amenaza considerada infundada.
Una amenaza escolar denunciada en una escuela secundaria de Ramona resultó ser infundada.
Sucedió el Jueves 12 de Septiembre, poco antes de las 9:00 a.m. El Ramona Sheriff’s Substation fue informado de un mensaje sobre una posible amenaza de tiroteo en la escuela secundaria Olive Pierce, ubicada en la cuadra 1500 de Hanson Lane.
Los oficiales del Alguacil llegaron a la escuela a los pocos minutos de recibir la notificación de la escuela. Por la seguridad de los estudiantes y el personal, los administradores de la escuela tomaron la decisión de poner la escuela en un cierre limitado mientras los oficiales investigaban el incidente.
Después de una búsqueda exhaustiva de todo el campus, los oficiales no encontraron nada sospechoso en la escuela secundaria Olive Pierce. Nadie resultó herido.
Por precaución, los oficiales realizaron redadas de seguridad en la escuela secundaria Ramona y la escuela Montessori comunitaria Ramona. Los oficiales también proporcionaron patrullas adicionales en los tres campus hasta el final de la jornada escolar.
