“A Smile is Never Far Away” Fundraiser Benefiting Teri Inc. Performing Arts Program

Get a big dose of heartfelt smiles and laughter at the very first virtual concert offered by TERI (Training, Education, Resource, Institute) on Thursday April 22, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The event will be sponsored by Kaiser Permanente and Prava Construction Services with special guest appearances by two-time Grammy winner, Jason Mraz and legendary Blues guitarist Lenny “Fuzzy” Rankins.

“A Smile Is Never Far Away” inspired by the clients and happily shared through all their individual and unique abilities. The cast of 15, range in age from 23- 58. Each will enact their very own created skit about what makes them smile. Family members join in on the fun, making the experience a memorable and one of a kind connection.

Jason Mraz and Lenny “Fuzzy” Rankins will share the stage with two rock star clients for a surprise ending you will not forget. Kristen Gilbert, Adaptive Theater Instructor and Lisa Hightower, Director of Music, spent the past year coaching their clients on their final performances through Zoom and recording each skit at their client’s homes. The final choreographed recording will be available through YouTube. The link will be available once registered.

The Performing Arts Program was developed in 2009 and has been a crucial part of TERI’s mission to change the way the world views and helps children and adults touched by special needs.

We hope to reach our fundraising goal of $25,000. All funds raised througjh the fundraiser will be used for the Performing Arts/Music Program.

TERI looks to the future by continuing its commitment to set new standards through establishing and operating model programs, conducting applied research in best practice procedures, and offering training and consultation to professionals, families, and other community members
