The Vista Fire Department hosted an open house for the public last Saturday at Fire Station #1, 175 N. Melrose Drive. The event was free and open to the public. Residence met the firefighters and Sheriff Deputy’s and many other supporting agencies. Parents
learned about escape plans from the home and more fire prevention tips. REACH Air Medical Services landed their air ambulance in the field next to the fire station and the public got to take pictures in it.
A message from Fire Chief Gerard Washington
IN A TYPICAL HOME FIRE, YOU MAY HAVE AS LITTLE AS ONE TO TWO MINUTES TO ESCAPE SAFELY FROM THE TIME THE SMOKE ALARM SOUNDS. ESCAPE PLANNING ENSURES THAT EVERYONE IN THE HOUSEHOLD KNOWS HOW TO USE THAT SMALL WINDOW OF TIME WISELY
