As an Air Force Combat Veteran, Josh Raines served with distinction in Operation Iraqi Freedom. His continued service as a Captain in the Air Force Reserve JAG Corps demonstrates his unwavering dedication to protecting our nation and community.
Born and raised in California, Josh understands the unique challenges and opportunities facing Oceanside.
“After serving our nation in the United States Air Force, I chose to move my family to Oceanside because I love this city,” said Josh Raines. “I am grateful for this opportunity to serve my community!”
After attending California Western School of Law in San Diego, Josh began his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney, where he passionately defended justice for victims and held criminals accountable.
“As a former Deputy District Attorney, I know that public safety is a top priority for Oceanside. I will ensure our brave local heroes have the support they need to keep our neighborhoods safe,” said Raines.
Josh Raines’s service on the Oceanside Planning Commission further showcases his dedication to his community. Only stopping his service on the commission to serve our nation as an Air Force reservist, Josh’s experience as a planning commissioner has given him a deep understanding of the critical issues facing our neighborhoods. Josh is committed to ensuring responsible growth that preserves the integrity and character of our beloved city while also protecting property rights.
District 3 deserves a representative who will prioritize the needs and concerns of its residents. With incumbent Councilmember Ryan Keim leaving the seat to seek the office of Mayor, Josh Raines is the candidate who will bring strong representation to City Hall.
