Students of Antonio Brimmo’s math classes at Alta Vista High School, in grades 10-12, partnered together to build a series of “hydraulic system structures”, using items as simple as popsicle sticks, plastic tubing and other items, along with drawing diagrams of their projects and have these on display in the Children’s section of the Vista City Library. The students identified key components of a hydraulic system by researching hydraulics, how hydraulic systems work as well as identifying their usage in society. Students planned, designed and drew up 3-D blueprints while solving math related questions involving hydraulic systems. The final result is a display of systems like hydraulic cranes, bridges, car lifts, a hand and a backhoe.

The display will remain at the City Library until March 15th
