Amtrak Train vs. Pedestrian Collision Oceanside

On September 22, 2020, at approximately 1436 hours, deputies from the Sheriff’s Transit Enforcement Unit responded to a report of an Amtrak Train vs. pedestrian collision. The incident occurred at the grade crossing located at Cleveland Street, in the city of Oceanside. A northbound Amtrak Train was traveling at approximately 20 miles per hour as it approached the intersection. The engineer sounded the train’s horn to alert pedestrian traffic. As the train crossed over the sidewalk area into the street, a male was struck by the train. The male survived and was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
