The incident occurred on the railroad tracks, at the Cassidy Street railroad crossing near Cassidy Street and South Meyers Street, in the city of Oceanside. A southbound Amtrak Train was traveling at approximately 60 miles per hour when the engineer observed a white pick-up truck, driving westbound, enter the railroad right-of-way and cross the path of the oncoming train.
