Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum’s Model Train Department Announces Upcoming Activities

Over the next few weeks, the Model Train Department of the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum in Vista will be inviting various modular model train clubs to set up and run in their building for 2-4 weeks at a time.

Short Track Railroad, the N Scale model group in AGSEM’s Model Train Department has started a major 10 year expansion of it’s Donner Pass Exhibit. Phase I of the project is removal of the modules to make room for the expansion. For a couple of months this is opening up a large area in the Section House.

Due to multiple Covid related restrictions, most model train shows over the past 2 years have been canceled. Now that the restrictions are starting to loosen up, the invite to come set up with us is going out to multiple affected clubs.

First in the list is the ZoCal Z Scale group. ZoCal represents Z Scale model railroaders from San Diego through LA and the Inland Empire.

“We think you’ll find Z Scale fascinating. At a scale of 1:220 Z Scale is much smaller than our N Scale (1:160).”, says Steve Moss from Short Track.

Because of the unique opportunity the Model Train Department will be extending it’s hours beyond the normal Saturday 9-1. Check with their Facebook Page for daily schedule.
