Assemblywoman Laurie Davies Announce Drowning Prevention Legislation

SAN DIEGO — Assemblywoman Laurie Davies, public safety officials, drowning prevention professionals, and advocates will hold a press conference to announce legislation aimed at improving drowning prevention and swim safety education to keep our children safe.

Assemblywoman Davies authored AB 1005, which expands water safety, drowning prevention education and swimming lessons to underserved families and children by developing a voucher program and directory for swimming lessons.

Also speaking at the even will be a parent who lost their child in a drowning incident. She will be emphasizing the impact drowning prevention has on families and the lives that will be saved by this bill.
