The City of Oceanside invites the public to celebrate the Joe Balderrama Park Re-Dedication and Community Celebration on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The park is located at 709 San Diego Street, Oceanside, CA 92058.
The Balderrama Park improvement project was funded largely by a State of California Department of Housing and Community Development grant, as part of the Housing-Related Parks Program. Park improvements include a new playground, three new picnic shelters, new BBQs, improvements to turf in the open play area, new LED sports lighting, and updated restrooms.
Guest Speakers include Congressman Mike Levin, and NAACP president Satia Austin, among others. There will also be recognition of prominent community members. Festivities include Aztec Dancing, music, food, Mariachi, Ballet Folklorico, Polynesian Dance, face painting and other activities for children. This is a free community event for all.
