October has arrived, but Carlsbad is still serving up plenty of sunshine and warm weather. Join us today, Wednesday, October 7, from 2:30-7 PM at the State Street Farmers Market and cool down with something refreshing while you shop.
This week, Just Bananas Whipped is back as a guest vendor with its take on a Dole Whip, made with just two organic ingredients: pineapple and banana. Enjoy it on its own, or add their seasonal blueberry sauce, made simply with lightly simmered organic blueberries. With another warm October day on tap, it’s an especially refreshing treat for a stroll through the market.
There are a few other ways to beat the heat, too. The Juicing Gents will have Passionfruit Orange Guava and Orange Guava Strawberry juices, while Goldie’s Popcorn is serving samples of its gourmet popcorn ice cold. And if you’re not quite ready to let go of summer produce, this is your chance to pick up some of the season’s final Yellow Nectarines from Smit Farms and Organic Watermelon from JR Organics Farm.
For those ready to embrace fall, the market is making that easy, too. Look for pumpkins and gourds, pumpkin, apple, and maple pecan pies, plus fall fruit including persimmons, pomegranates, grapes, guava, and apples.
With only four more markets until the time change, come make the most of these longer Wednesday afternoons while they last. We’ll see you today on State Street between Grand Avenue and Carlsbad Village Drive. For today’s vendor list and market info, click here.
