SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos duo of Ryan Bisharat and Justin Vrzich were named to the 2019-20 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s Golf All-Conference Team on Monday morning.
Bisharat was named to the All-CCAA first team while Vrzich was named an honorable mention.
This season, Bisharat led the team with a 74.17 scoring average in a team-high 18 rounds. The senior’s best finish of the season came at the Sierra Central Wildcat Classic as he tied for third with a 4-under 212. His other top-five finish came at the Sonoma State Men’s Invite as he tied for fifth with a 6-over 224. This is Bisharat’s second All-CCAA honor as he was named an honorable mention for 2018-19.
Vrzich had CSUSM’s second-best scoring average for the year at 74.67. The senior had one win on the ledger as he tied for first with a 3-over 216 in his final tournament at the Coyote Classic. His other top-five finish came at the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational as he shot a 3-over 219 to tie for fifth place. He concluded the year with two CCAA Golfer of the Week nods. This is Vrzich’s first All-CCAA honor.
This is the second time in program history that two Cougars have been awarded All-CCAA honors in the same season as Chris Tuulik and Jordan McBrayer did it in 2017-18.
