OCEANSIDE — A Dec. 23 fire gutted Bread and Cheese Eatery in Oceanside and damaged two neighboring businesses, leaving the popular restaurant facing a year-long rebuild.
The fire not only shuttered a growing Oceanside favorite but also sparked a wave of community support as owner Justin Frank works to recover. He also owns And Breakfast Burritos, which is the location’s morning offering. The fire also damaged parts of Surfside Laundromat, and Rose Café suffered secondary damage, such as no electricity, Frank said.
