On Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 12:17pm, Oceanside Police received a call from a pedestrian reporting a body floating in the San Luis Rey River adjacent to Capistrano Park. Oceanside Fire Department personnel along with Life Guards also responded. The body of an adult white male was located and removed from the water. It was obvious this individual had been in the water for some time.
