(Vista, CA–) Club members were honored at the Boys & Girls Club of Vista for their outstanding contributions to the Club during 2020. Since the Club was not able to hold our annual in person celebration this year, a collection of videos was created to recognize the various award winners. The videos can be found on our You Tube channel: Boys & Girls Club of Vista.
This award is based on youth contributions to their Club, school, community, and family as well as for academic success, healthy lifestyles, leadership and obstacles overcome. Lindsey has been a member at the Boys & Girls Club of Vista for 10 years and is an active volunteer engaging younger members in fun activities, art, and games. She is currently a junior at Vista High School and plans to attend Palomar College and Cal State San Marcos to study nursing.
Ms. Huezo is a very responsible and caring Club member that is a perfect example of living by Boys & Girls Club values. By volunteering her time towards helping others, she embodies the values of leadership service as well as academic excellence and healthy lifestyles. She has overcome many obstacles in life and is a portrait of resiliency. She serves as a positive ally for our younger Club members. She always takes initiative to help the Club in any capacity. She also helps with our Power Hour program, Project FUN fitness programs, art shop and truly does whatever it takes to make the Club special for all kids.
