Boys & Girls Club of Vista’s School Day Camps

Ensuring our Club Members stay connected while families work.

Vista, CA- The Boys & Girls Club of Vista (BGCV) is doing ‘Whatever It Takes’ to ensure that the youth in our community are supported during the pandemic. Since March, day to day operations have looked very different from the typical services offered at the Club. BGCV served thousands of meals in partnership with VUSD, distributed restaurant gift cards to families, and received a $10,000 grant to distribute pantry essentials and fresh produce from Sun Dial Farms to 200 Club families.

The most recent iteration of doing ‘Whatever It Takes’ is providing School Day camps for 80 Club Members. The Club is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:30pm. Our staff are helping make sure our Club Members are connected, on task, and learning.

BGCV wanted to celebrate the school year so that our Club Members continue to feel excited about learning, no matter what form that learning takes. City of Vista representatives, Councilmembers Joe Green and Corinna Contreras and Deputy Mayor Amanda Rigby helped celebrate and welcome our Club Members as they arrived at the Club for the first day of school.

BGCV is committed to staying open for full day camps as long as the community needs, without passing additional costs of new COVID-19 guidelines on to families. 60% of the Club Members currently served at BGCV are receiving full scholarships for Day Camps.
