San Marcos, Calif., August 2026 – Through a partnership with Regal, Boys & Girls Clubs of America offered Clubs across the country an exciting chance to participate in the 2026 Summer Movie Express program. This initiative was designed to help children avoid summer learning setbacks and escape the summer heat by engaging in fun learning activities tied to their favorite movies.
As moviegoers filled theaters throughout the summer, Regal remained committed to giving children the joy of watching movies in person and allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the cinematic experience. Thanks to these grants, Club members enjoyed trips to the local Regal movie theater, where they watched “Scoob!”, “Minions” and “The Sandlot.” Grant funding helped provide transportation to and from the theater, discounted movie tickets, fun educational activities and access to concessions for Club members.
“There’s something pretty special about giving kids the chance to simply be kids together,” said Christine Vaughan, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos. “Because of Regal’s generosity, youth from our Walter J. & Betty C. Zable Foundation Branch were able to share a fun summer experience, make new connections, and create memories together. We’re incredibly grateful for partners who understand that these experiences can have a lasting impact on a child.”
