A man is behind bars on suspicion of breaking into a North County business and stealing around $20,000 worth of property.
The burglary happened on Sunday, January 15 around 9:00 p.m. in the 2400 block of Business Park Drive in Vista. Two men entered a secure area of the business and loaded their white pickup truck with tools and other items before quickly leaving the area.
On Monday, January 16, the theft was discovered and reported to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station arrived at the business to investigate the burglary. As deputies watched surveillance video of the incident, they recognized the suspects’ truck from an unrelated call for service earlier that morning.
As a result, deputies were able to identify one of the suspects and where he lived. Detectives from the Vista Sheriff’s Station were then able to secure a search warrant for the truck and the suspect’s home. The search warrant was served later that day. The majority of the stolen items were found at that location. A firearm, firearm parts and ammunition were also located. All of the recovered stolen items were returned to the business.
Brian Smith (DOB 03/05/1982) was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on charges of commercial burglary and possession of stolen property.

Sospechoso arrestado, propiedad robada recuperada.
Un hombre está tras las rejas bajo sospecha de irrumpir en un negocio del Norte del Condado y robar alrededor de $20,000 en propiedad.
El robo ocurrió el domingo 15 de enero alrededor de las 9:00 p.m. en la cuadra 2400 de Business Park Drive en Vista. Dos hombres ingresaron a un área segura del negocio y cargaron su camioneta blanca con herramientas y otros artÃculos antes de abandonar rápidamente el área.
El lunes 16 de enero, se descubrió el robo y se informó al Departamento del Alguacil del Condado de San Diego. Oficiales del Vista Sheriff’s Station llegaron al negocio para investigar el robo. Mientras los oficiales miraban el video de vigilancia del incidente, reconocieron el camión de los sospechosos de una llamada de servicio no relacionada más temprano esa mañana.
Como resultado, los oficiales pudieron identificar a uno de los sospechosos y dónde vivÃa. Los detectives del Vista Sheriff’s Station pudieron obtener una orden de allanamiento para el camión y la casa del sospechoso. La orden de registro fue entregada más tarde ese dÃa. La mayorÃa de los artÃculos robados fueron encontrados en ese lugar. También se localizó un arma de fuego, piezas de arma de fuego y municiones. Todos los artÃculos robados recuperados fueron devueltos al negocio.
