NORMAN, Okla. – Cal State San Marcos women’s golfer Jaime Jacob was selected to participate in the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup as one of 12 female representatives for the United States, per an announcement on the Golf Channel and an official release from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Friday. Jacob becomes the first Cougar in school history to earn the honor and is the lone NCAA Division II female student-athlete to be selected.

Jacob is the reigning NCAA Division II National Champion, leading the Cougars to runner-up honors at the 2019 National Championships on May 18 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

The Encinitas native concluded her collegiate career with 13 tournament wins and a scoring average of 73.54. In her 37 tournaments, Jacob posted 23 top-5 finishes and 30 top-10 finishes. She turned in par or better in 31 of her 78 rounds played in her four years.

“To be chosen to represent Team USA in the Arnold Palmer Cup is an amazing achievement,” said CSUSM Head Coach Greg Hutton. “I know this was one of Jaime’s goals going into this season, and I’m so proud of her. Over the last four years, Jaime has accomplished so much, and it’s only fitting that her career at CSUSM will conclude as a member of the Arnold Palmer Cup Team.

“This accomplishment is a testament to Jaime’s work ethic and commitment to always wanting to get better. What a great day for our program and University.”
