ESCONDIDO — The California Center for the Arts, Escondido, will host its second annual town hall on Jan. 20, a community-driven event born out of financial uncertainty and a push to keep the center under the control of the CCAE Foundation.
The town hall began last year as a way to gather resident feedback after the city considered replacing the CCAEF as the center’s operator during a city budget crisis and financial uncertainty with the foundation. CCAEF Executive Director Gina Lopez said those conversations from last year’s town hall helped secure a new two-year contract and guide the center’s expansion of free and cultural programming.
The agreement runs through June 2027 and includes an annual management fee of $660,000, according to city records.
