SACRAMENTO – Following their negotiations with the Governor, the Democrat controlled Legislature passed Senate Bill 164 “Budget Bill Jr. III” with viewer fatigue. SB 164 is the fourth budget bill in five weeks. Assemblyman Vince Fong (R-Kern County), Vice Chair of the Assembly Budget Committee, issued the following statement:
“Budget 4.0 is the fourth budget version in five weeks. The problem with sequels: the story is the same and there isn’t enough marketing to make it better.
“Like previous versions, this budget is coming together in pieces – unfortunately it’s rushed, continues to be unsustainable, and is being dragged out by last minute deals. Hence, not allowing for proper public input.
“This is not how government should operate. And we know there will be more to come. “We’ve made it to Rocky IV of this budget season, but we know Rocky V doesn’t get much better.”
