Can you Help Us with the Parade on Saturday?

It’s that time of year again! MainStreet Oceanside will be staging Oceanside’s annual Independence Parade on June 25th. This is a complicated event to organize with over 125 entries and thousands of participants and spectators.

An event like this requires many, many volunteers. We’re getting down to the wire and finding ourselves short some helpers for the parade.

Here’s where we need help:

Check-in: [7:00 am to 9:00 am] Sit at the check-in table and assist participants.

Street and Barricade Marshal: [7:00 am until End of Parade] Organize participants on the staging street and walk with them to the end of the parade route. Requires standing and walking.

Route Marshal: [8:30 am until End of Parade] Supervise a barricade along the parade route. Answer questions from spectators and distribute parade programs. Requires standing.

If you can help us with the parade this year, please attend one of our volunteer orientation meetings:

Tuesday, June 21, 6:00 pm
Wednesday, June 22, 6:00 pm

Meetings will be held at the MainStreet Oceanside office at 701 Mission Avenue.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.
